Bauhaus Archive Berlin | Originally planned for a site in Darmstadt, the Bauhaus Archive was relocated to Berlin, at the invitation of the Berlin Senate. Construction began in 1976. The new structure, based on a design by Walter Gropius, was dedicated in December 1979. The building was placed under landmark protection in 1997. The scenic Landwehrkanal is on the right.
