The Wieskirche (Pilgrimage Church of Wies) lies at the foot of the Bavarian Alps about 50 miles southwest of Munich in Steingaden, Bavaria. To truly appreciate this architectural marvel you have to go inside. The Wieskirche (full name: Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour) was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
