Marienplatz

The Marienplatz in the center of Munich. Auto and truck traffic used to pass through this square until it was turned into a Fußgängerzone (pedestrian zone) for the 1972 Olympic Games. On the other side is Munich’s New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) with the famous Glockenspiel chimes (green) in the tower.
