The tower of the baroque Katherinenkirche, as seen from the Hauptwache café. St. Catherine’s church was originally completed in 1681. In 1944 it was destroyed by Allied bombs. Reconstructed in the 1950s, Frankfurt’s largest Protestant church is dedicated to the martyred saint, Catherine of Alexandria. A complete restoration of the interior lasted from 2001 until 2005.
