Semper Opera House in Dresden

The Semper Opera House (die Semperoper) in Dresden is named for the architect Gottfried Semper (1803-1879), who designed it and other buildings in the city. Badly damaged in the Second World War, the Semperoper has been restored twice since then. The building is home to the Saxon State Opera Dresden. Guided tours allow sightseers to view the interior.
