The Zwinger complex in Dresden is home to the famous Semper Gallery (left), the Porcelain Collection and several other art and historical museums. The Zwinger was designed by Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann and was built between 1710 and 1732 in collaboration with sculptor Balthasar Permoser.
