In the background, behind the anchor recovered from the USS Arizona, we can see the white memorial designed by Alfred Preis. All visitors to the memorial in Pearl Harbor must travel by boat (left). To the left of the anchor we can also see part of the gray USS Missouri. It was aboard this battleship that the treaty of surrender with Japan was signed, while the ship was anchored in Tokyo Bay.
