Below you’ll find some helpful tips on how to find information and use this site to your advantage.
Using the CONTENTS Page
For most people, the German Way Contents page is the best starting point. The Contents page lists all of the 77 topics in the German Way book. (Also see the Contents menu on the left.) Topics that are on the Web site are linked. Many other topics have updates or related links, indicated on the Contents page with an UPDATED label. Just click on the “Update” link to go to that topic update.
Using the SITE MAP
The GW Site Map is a “map” or guide to all the pages on this site and how they relate to each other. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the Contents page, then look at the site map.
Using the UPDATES INDEX
The Updates Index page is a listing of most of the topics that have some form of expanded information or links to related Web sites. The German Way book could not contain the vast amount of information that the World Wide Web and other sources can offer. By clicking on a linked item, you can read more about that topic, see related photos, or visit an appropriate Web site. (Also see the UPDATED links on the Contents page.)
Below are several examples:
- THE BERLIN WALL: The East Side Gallery and Berlin Wall Timeline pages are about the Wall today and yesterday.
- THE AUTOBAHN: The Autobahn 2 page is a supplement (with links) to the GW book Autobahn chapter that updates the autobahn toll information for Austria and Switzerland.
- BIOGRAPHY: See the Sigmund Freud, Angela Merkel and Alfred Herrhausen pagesplus many others on our Famous people page.
- WOMEN IN SOCIETY: Women, Austria, and the Vienna Philharmonic
