Postdamer Platz Skyline

About this photo: Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz was a desert-like no-man’s-land throughout the era of the Berlin Wall. Today’s rebuilt Potsdamer Platz bears little resemblance to the Potsdamer Platz area that existed before World War II. Here we see the skyline of the new Potsdamer Platz complex, with the white roof of the Sony Center on the left. Comprised of office buildings, movie theaters, hotels, apartments, and shops, the area today has been criticized for lacking the bustling vitality it had before the war.
