Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate by night - as viewed from its eastern side. - PHOTO 7 Die Straße des 17. Juni | The Avenue of the 17th of June, as seen from the top of the Victory Column (die Siegessäule). The avenue’s name commemorates a workers' uprising that took place in the German Democratic Republic in 1953. In the distance: the Brandenburg Gate and the TV tower.
- PHOTO 8 Reichstag Dome at Night | Designed by British architect Sir Norman Foster, the Reichstag’s new transparent dome is open to the public until midnight (last entry at 11:00 pm).

- PHOTO 13 A Closer Look | Although covered with glass, the Reichstag dome is open to the air with a louvered overhang. The top of the dome is also open to the elements. Sir Norman Foster’s design is intended to convey an open government.

- PHOTO 15 View from the Dome | A view from the Reichstag dome. Visitors to the terrace that surrounds the dome have wonderful views of Berlin's central district (Mitte). We can see the Spree river and the Friedrichsstraße S-Bahn station
