  • PHOTO 7 Die Straße des 17. Juni | The Avenue of the 17th of June, as seen from the top of the Victory Column (die Siegessäule). The avenue’s name commemorates a workers' uprising that took place in the German Democratic Republic in 1953. In the distance: the Brandenburg Gate and the TV tower.
