Looking from the Info Box out onto part of the Potsdamer Platz construction area. The brown tower is a replica of a five-sided traffic control tower (Verkehrsturm) that dates back to 1924, when it was installed in front of the Leipzig Gate (now destroyed) to help control the heavy traffic on the Potsdamer Platz. It was the first electric traffic signal in Germany and stood in the middle of Potsdamer Platz until 1936. The Reichstag can be seen faintly in the background. (See another view of this traffic tower in the previous Info Box photo.)
