This model, located in the Info Box in Berlin, clearly shows the Spreebogen or “Spree river bend” site of the new German government complex in Berlin. The domed former Reichstag building (center left) is colored yellow. It became the seat of the Bundestag (federal parliament) in September 1999. The 100-meter-wide strip of buildings across the Spreebogen (on right) now comprises the offices for the German chancellor (Kanzleramt) and the federal government. The structures in the foreground now house various government agencies. Designed by Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank, the complex was completed in 2001.
